The Independent and various sources report that target Varane has chosen to move to Real Madrid and snubs approaches from Manchester United (Zidane needs to stop sticking his nose in)

Yahoo Sports discuss how Paris St Germain are lining up a summer swoop for United striker Dimitar Berbatov

Metro says that midfield target Diarra has decided to ignore interest from Premier League duo Manchester United and Tottenham in order to stay on and fight for his place at Real Madrid.

The Telegraph has a report following Antonio Valencia, who says that he doesn’t fear Ashley Young’s arrival at United and is willing to battle it out for a starting place.

Metro also reports how Ashley Young is only a small piece in a big ‘masterplan’ that Sir Alex Ferguson is hatching in this summer’s transfer window.

Caught Offside says that MLS side Toronto FC will give Owen Hargreaves the chance to resurrect his career after Manchester United simply had to let him go this summer. Good luck Owen.

AS a lifelong supporter of man U, your remark that Zidane should keep his nose out of the
signing of the French youngster Varane who it appears is headed towards Real Madrid,
was i believe unwarranted, Zidane i believe works for Real so who better to speak to the youngster,
Yes i am sorry we lost him very much so, but thats football, so how do you with your holier than
thou attitude compare that approach to Evra speaking to Nasri, or Saf phoning Sanchez, or
sending a letter to Defour. i see very little difference between the Goose and the Gander.

It was more a bitter remark than anything intellectual. I am just sad that we lost out to another signing to RM. Too many times over the last few seasons have we lost out to Madrid (Benzema and Ozil spring to mind). It was a remark without thought and you are right, as an ambassador of the club I guess there is nobody better to speak to Varane than Zidane. It is just such a shame that his influence has such power that we clearly don’t have. Maybe one day soon we will beat Madrid to a signing of a player!
