United show their charitable side during American tour

Sir Alex Ferguson has been a UNICEF ambassador since 2002

Ever since United and UNICEF established links in 1999, United have worked in unison to try and help the charity with its global endeavours. On the way, United has helped raise over £2 million to help children all across the world and with the American tour coming up, United have committed themselves to visit the UNICEF HQ and pledged to help raise another £1 million for the charity. Along the way, United will be hosting some Special Olympic events to allow those with intellectual disabilities to take part in footballing activities. It is nice to see United upholding their links with the charity as it helps to present the global image of United as the family it really is. Not all teams will give up their time on a pre-season tour to continue building a relationship with a non-profit organisation but it is good to see this.
