SAF: I will make changes against Blackpool

The last game of the season is quickly upon us as Blackpool come to Old Trafford this weekend. Having secured the title with a rugged point away at Blackburn last week, United go into this game knowing that the final whistle will spark wild celebrations as Old Trafford rejoices Vidic holding the Premier League trophy aloft.

SAF has announced that he intends to bring changes into the squad as he looks to give players a chance to impress prior to the Champions League final on May 28.

“Obviously people expect me to leave players out and that will be the case. I have to think about next week [the Champions League final]. I have to juggle the balls and make sure I get the right mix and keep the right energies for Barcelona. There are players who need a game anyway. Darren Fletcher, Paul Scholes and Anderson will all play. So will Berbatov, Evra and Van der Sar.”

The team who walks out at Old Trafford will be put under scrutiny and Wolves owner Steve Morgan has come out and stated that Manchester United should be fined if we field a weakened team…shut up Steve. SAF has stated that Fletcher, Berbatov, Evra and Scholes will all play so the teamsheet is not looking particularly empty. We have every right to be considering our team with the massive game against Barcelona coming up and SAF has commented on it.

“We’ll do our fairest to make sure there’s no criticism of the club. The only thing you could be criticised for is if you lose a game and it affects other teams. That’s when you should be put under scrutiny for the team you picked.”

With Tevez scoring 2 goals against Stoke City in midweek, Berbatov will be hungry to score another Old Trafford hat-trick and secure the golden boot he has deserved all season and the attacking mentality of United means that even though we have secured the title already, we will be looking to go out with a home victory and protect our undefeated home record in the Premier League this season.
