Transfer Season: Raphael Varane

The purchase of  Fulham defender Chris Smalling last summer turned out to be a fantastic £10 million spend after he put in mature performances throughout the season as a stand-in for Ferdinand when he was injured but United have been strongly linked to bring in another young defender this summer. Various sources have placed United as the front runners to sign the 18-year old centre-back and he may well be brought to Old Trafford in a move that would very much look towards the future. Varane has said that there has been contact from Manchester United’s side but also from other clubs but that he is concentrating on playing his football rather than looking at transfer speculation. He has certainly got the potential to emerge as a long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand but with a busy transfer window ahead, SAF may well choose to the defensive options he has already got at Old Trafford next season and choose to strengthen up the midfield which has always looked like the weakest part of United this season.

I know my visitors would value your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free to send me an e mail.

An ebook is something that I’d like to do in the future but for now I am just trying to get a following for the blog. It is nice to see that other people are enjoying the writings. As for a guest article, I’d happily do some. Send me an email to speopl@gmail.com with some ideas.
