Transfer Season: City trying to snatch Sanchez?

Alexis Sanchez is a wanted player this summer

This morning Sky Sports released news on City holding talks about signing Sanchez placing speculation over his potential move to Old Trafford this summer. SAF has long been an admirer of the diminutive Chilean attacking player and it was thought that after his trophy season in the Serie A, in which he scored 12 goals, he could possibly have been playing in the red of Manchester United next season. However, this news throws a new name into the pot and it looks like it will be a race to sign Sanchez.

Take a look at this video of Sanchez scoring 4 against Palermo in the Serie A this season if you haven’t had the chance to watch him play. The talent of this 22 year old is not a question as he possesses the pace, touch and finesse that the best wide players have as well as having a powerful and accurate shot: he is the football manager’s wet dream. With Manchester City qualifying for the Champions League this year as well as securing an end to their 35 year trophy streak, they will be a force in the market this season. The fact that they have an unlimited transfer budget might mean they will come over the top and steal players in much the same fashion as Real Madrid have done over recent years (Benzema for example).

Hernandez took no time at all to settle in the Premier League

If Sanchez is hungry for silverware then he knows which side of Manchester he should come to and if his South American compatriot Hernandez is anything to go by, he would fit right in at Old Trafford. With Valencia re-finding his form and Nani showing his class at the start of the season, as well as Park-Ji Sung continuously providing on the pitch, adding Sanchez into the equation would give United a plethora of fantastic winger options next season. Here is to hoping that SAF will be able to bring Sanchez through to Old Trafford next season.
